Can a student remove themselves from Google classroom?

Google Classroom has a feature to allow students unenrolling classes by themselves. Younger students often mistakenly removed themselves from classes created by teachers. This feature awkwardly causes classroom management issues for schools.
Afterall, why is there no Unenroll button on Google classroom?
Teachers: are able to leave courses only if they make a co-teacher the owner of the class first. This cannot be turned off - https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/answer/6069576. Teachers: are able to remove students from courses.
Even so, how do I remove myself from a Google classroom teacher? For details, see Make someone else the owner of your file.
Google Classroom gives teachers,students and even parents/guardians these great notifications. ... When you unenroll from a class, you will no longer see it in Classroom, but all your class files are stored in your Google Drive.

Removing a student from your class removes their grades from the gradebook and they won't see your assignments in Classroom. However, their work remains in the class folder in Google Drive and their posts remain in the class stream.
Please note: If you manually remove a student, but stay in the Google Meet, the "removed" student will NOT be able to rejoin the Google Meet, until you exit. It takes Google approximately 5 minutes to "reset" the Google Meet.
Click on the plus button in the upper right to create a class for your students to join. Suggestion: In the “Section” line when creating a class indicate the school year. This will make it easier when you want to reuse assignments from previous years.
